Ira K. Harris
pastor@fbcsouthpc.comIra Kelley Harris is the third son of Pastor Bobby and Brenda Harris of Alabaster, Alabama. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at 9 years old, and has served as a minister of the gospel for over 30 years. In the summer of 1992, he accepted his call to ministry, traveling locally and nationally as an evangelist under the pastoral oversight of his father at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Sylacauga, and his grandfather Dr. B.E. McKinney of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Talladega.
Pastor Ira served honorably in the United States Army for 8 years and received his education from Birmingham Southern College, with a concentration in Political Science and Comparative Political Studies.
His desire is to see every Christian discipled, equipped, trained, and deployed into their God-given destiny, believing that the formation of Christ in the believer is central to that end. He is known as a wise master-builder, bringing forth heavenly concepts and patterns for this generation. The Harris' have been married for 30 years and reside in Pell City, Alabama.
First Lady
Corliss Harris
firstlady@fbcsouthpc.comCorliss Hunley Harris is the proud daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Denson Hunley of Talladega, Alabama. She began her Christian journey at age 9 under the pastoral leadership of Dr. B.E. McKinney at Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, and served in various ministries and roles throughout her preteen, teen, and early adult years.
Lady Harris studied at Alabama State University in Montgomery, and for over 20 years has worked with at-risk youth, autistic children, and those with disabilities. She currently works in early childhood education.
As an anointed watchman and discerning intercessor, she carries a deep desire to see the bride of Christ rise in purity, maturity, and the full stature of Christ Jesus. Together, the Harris' oversee the First Baptist Church South family.
